Read What Our Patients Are Saying

This place is prejudice I called for an appointment, and they don’t accept my insurance which is Fidelis card with Medicaid. Do you understand what this means why I am being refused from seeing this provider?. I hope that New York health and hospitals make it where everyone’s insurance can be accepted everywhere for care, regardless of color, race, creed. I suffer from fibroids, adeniomyosis, kidney stone and a uti. I called someone by the name of Gary was just screaming at the top of his lungs while he continued to talk over me. Be careful if you’re not rich they don’t want to see you. “ God have mercy upon us.

My Experience Following Prolapse Repair Surgery Before my prolapse repair surgery, I was active, exercised regularly, and walked without pain or limitations. I chose to have the surgery with the hope of improving my urinary incontinence and maintaining my quality of life. Unfortunately, my experience has been very different from what I expected. After the surgery, I was unable to walk for several weeks. Since then, I have lived with persistent pain in my back, legs, and feet that has continued for nearly two years and has dramatically changed my daily life. I have done everything I have been advised to do in an effort to recover. I received home physical therapy followed by approximately six months of outpatient physical therapy, and I continue to attend physical therapy sessions. I have undergone four epidural steroid injections, medial branch blocks, and radiofrequency ablation (RFA). I have also been treated with medications such as oxycodone and gabapentin, been evaluated by a vein specialist, and tried acupuncture. Despite all of these treatments, I continue to experience significant pain and limitations. What makes this even more disappointing is that I am still not 100% better with my urinary incontinence, which was the primary reason I agreed to have the surgery in the first place. Living with chronic pain and ongoing urinary symptoms has affected every aspect of my life. I never imagined that a procedure intended to improve my quality of life would leave me struggling with daily pain and reduced mobility nearly two years later. I am sharing my experience so that others can make an informed decision and understand the long and difficult journey I have faced. I sincerely hope no one else has to endure what I have experienced.

Dr Kavaler and her staff are remarkable. I walked in frightened and worried. Jovanna at the front desk made me feel safe and calm which helped me so much. The entire staff is top notch —professional, efficient and kind. Dr Kavaler explained everything and answered all of my questions. She takes her time explaining anything you don’t understand. I highly recommend Dr Kavaler.

I cannot recommend Dr. Kavaler enough—she saved my life. She is, by far, the #1 female urologist in the world. Her knowledge, support, and dedication are unparalleled. Before finding Dr. Kavaler for a complex, hard-to-diagnose chronic condition, I consulted numerous top male urologists in NYC who failed to help—and actually made my situation worse. If you are on the fence, don't hesitate. She is simply the best, and genuinely compassionate as well.

A person claiming to be this Dr was very unprofessional with my husband. Calling him darling and sweetheart. If this wasn't this Dr it still needs to be addressed.

Doctor Kavaler is amazing. 14 years ago I showed up at her office with fears of having PKD. After careful investigations she reassured me that my condition was related to a congenital obstruction rather than to a genetic condition. This year, after kidney surgery due to a complication, her diagnosis proved right to the point. No cysts in my kidney, just a bad obstruction since birth. She saw what no one else could see. I am forever grateful for her care and expertise. She saved me 14 years of unnecessary stress. Thank you, doctor Kavaler!

Dr. Kavaler came highly recommended, and from my point of view she has exceeded expectations. First the staff: Professional and very friendly. Dr. Kavaler: Not a "shmoozer". She is thorough, gets to the point, and gives an explanation that is thorough and understandable. I trust her, and this year my husband saw her for the first time. (We are a hetersexual couple). I have had serious urologic issues in the past, and she is the first woman urologist I've ever seen. A positive experience!
